Style Packing: Make-up for Travel

For girls who's obsessed with their make-up babes, whenever they travel...they tend to bring a lot (if not everything) of their make-ups (which they haven't really used, most of the time) that really occupies a big unwanted space to their suitcase.

Regardless of the climate of the country that you're going to visit, the key words in packing make-up is dual purpose. Here are some ideal guides in packing your make-up for travel:

Foundation: Pick a foundation that is lost lasting. You want your foundation to stay-on the whole day specially if you're going to do a lot of strolling. It saves also some space since you need not to bring your primer anymore hence its long lasting effect. You can also build this up to cover more your blemishes in case you will not opt to bring a concealer. Revlon Colorstay Foundation is a good example of this kind.

Eyeshadow: Traveling is the perfect time to bring your palettes. If you have a lot of palettes, choosing one is quite easy. Make sure that your go to colors (neutral, bold, or brights) are available. Unless it's in hard or metal case, it is quite a risk to bring your 88, 120 or bigger color palettes. It takes a big space and have a tendency to break while it's in your suitcase. Urban Decay's Naked palette is a good catch since it already have storage for your liners and eyeshadow primer.

Mascara/Eyeliner: You don't want to have a raccoon-smudged eyes or re-apply in a middle of theme-park ride. Don't you? Waterproof mascara is the answer. My favorites are L'oreal voluminous and Revlon Colorstay Eye liner.

Lip and Cheek Tints: Here is the master of dual purpose. An instant blush and lip stain in one! Usually LCT's are made for long lasting effect to your cheeks and lips.

Brushes: I love to bring my Sigma Travel Kit brushes whenever I travel. I already have all the brushes I'll ever need just in case. It's in a hand roll that makes it much easier to fit into my purse.

Powdered blotting sheets: I was really impressed with this product. Imagine doing 2 things in one. It control your oils and gives you a matte finish also. Gatsby creates a great blotting sheet.

Extras:

Primer: If your long lasting foundation is not available or you can't afford to have one, don't worry. Primer will do its work to make your makeup stay all day long. Ellana Minerals have their own make-up primer line for only Php 280.00.

Concealer: You might be surprised that I didn't included concealers in the main list. Unless you have a clear skin already (i'm envious!) you may not need this anymore. But if you're like me who needs to conceal my blemishes, concealer is a handy guy. It can also work as a primer to your eye make up.

Creme blush: if you're going to bring powder blush (unless it's super pigmented), it usually lasts from 2 to 4 hours only. Cream blushes are good base for your powder blush to make it stay last longer.

So there. Few ideal tips to save your suitcase from space and making most of your make up.

Goodluck!

  2. Great tips! Although I'm not much of a cheek and lip tint fan. Had a really bad experience using it before. Hehehe! =)
